Amazon.com leads the list of most reputable companies

Amazon.com tops the list of companies with the best reputation reports the Harris Poll Reputation Quotient survey.

In the survey, most of the companies that are considered as most reputable are giants from the technology industry like Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, and Sony. These brands are also the leaders of their main products like smartphones and videogame consoles.

Nielsen Senior Vice President Robert Fronk said that what makes these tech companies, like Amazon.com and Apple outstanding, is their ability to go across the board with the product and service they offer while being customer focused. These top reputable companies also have a sense of social responsibility.

The 24/7 Wall St. checked the survey to make sure that the Harris Poll Reputation Quotient is reliable. This poll measured how Americans look at U.S companies to determine the reputation of each company. The scores are based on the customer’s perspective of the company, emotional appeal, social responsibility, products and services, leadership, vision, workplace environment and financial performance.

Here are the top most reputable companies in the U.S.:

  9. MIcrosoft
  10. Sony

Bank of America leads companies with worst reputation list

On the other hand, the lists of top companies with weak reputation are made up mainly of companies in the financial service industry like the Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase and AIG. After the 2008 financial crisis, these companies received money from the U.S. government to help stabilize the nation. There are other financial service companies that are drastically improving recently as well. Some other companies with weak reputation are not that popular though.
