If you thought that Tesla Model S had an unbeatable speed, you are in for a rude shock. Steve Saleen, the owner of Saleen Automotive says a new model called FourSixteen will be faster.
Tesla Model S sprints to 60 mph in about five seconds which is not fast enough for Steve Saleen. The new model, the FourSixteen will be propelled to 60 mph in the mid- to low four-second range.
If you are interested in speed, you better get yourself a FourSixteen model. Saleen Automotive takes cars and makes them more awesome.
It can be remembered that the company just launched the Tesla Model S recently at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and then the FourSixteen is following so closely with a number of aesthetic, aerodynamic and mechanical upgrades. It also has a functional cupholder.
“I view electric cars not as a fad, but as the trend. It’s where the future is going in transportation,” said Steve at the car’s unveiling. Electric cars are more efficient and are environment-friendly.
He stated that the car is more aerodynamic than the original. The FourSixteen also boasts an improved cooling system and a more track-friendly chassis. Furthermore, it has a different sway bar and software update that improves its drivability and cornering response.
It packs a 416 horsepower rating and an all-new 11.39:1 final gear ratio. It is noticeably quicker and a bit louder.
It has larger wheels for enhanced stability and its brakes have been upgraded to include an optional carbon ceramic disk system.
Moving to the interior, you will notice that the number of seats has been reduced. The FourSixteen has four seats with front and rear bucket seats.
If need this model be ready to part with $152,000; the company is taking orders now, but you have to wait for between 6 and 8 weeks for it to be delivered to you.
