The leading commercial websites

on

Commercial websites are e-commerce websites that have global presence and allow people to do business securely over the internet. Simply put, they are websites that operate as online businesses.

For efficiency, the website should be search-friendly, fast and provide a clear picture of what is being dealt in.

Commercial websites have the advantages of offering flexibility and convenience in terms of obtaining products and services. Customers have the opportunity to compare prices and chose what suits their needs.

Some people also find commercial websites to me more accommodative than sales agents who may at times be frustrating or untruthful.

The five leading commercial websites are discussed here, based on thorough assessment of all their activities, the capital base and other relevant factors.

At the top of the list is Ebay, an American online company that manages eBay.com. Ebay was founded in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar, a French-born Iranian computer programmer.

There are separate Amazon websites for China, Canada, France, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Rakuten comes third. Rakuten is the largest online shopping mall operator in Japan with over 50 million registered users. It was founded by Hiroshi Mikitani in February 1997 as MDM Inc. but later changed its name to Rakuten in June the same year.

The fourth position is held by Walmart.com. This is an American public corporation operating a chain of warehouse stores and a chain of large discount department stores. It was founded in 1962 as Wal-mart by Sam Walton. It was incorporated in 1969 and was publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972.

Walmart is based in Bentonville, Arkansas. It is the largest grocery retailer and the majority private employer in the U.S.
