The premier of Maleficent at the Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre is supposed to be Angelina Jolie’s night, but all eyes were shifted to her husband Brad Pitt who was punched in the face as he walked the red carpet.
According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Nuria Vanegas, Pitt was signing autographs and posing for pictures when suddenly someone went over the barricades then attacked and punched the actor.
Bodyguards were able to respond quickly and Brad Pitt was reportedly unharmed. The actor went back to signing autographs.
The suspect was Vitalli Seduik who was charged with suspicion of battery and is in police custody with a $20,000 bail.
Seduik is a 25-year-old serial prankster who is also a Ukranian Journalist.
The prankster is notorious for doing controversial acts as he victimizes stars in red carpet events.
Last January, the prankster tried to go under the dress of America Ferrera in the Cannes Premier of “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” The journalist was also able to make it through the Oscars wearing a Bjork-like swan dress. Fortunately, the security was able to stop him and sent him out.
He also tried to kiss Will Smith during an interview in Moscow in May last year. Smith said Seduik was lucky that he did not punch the serial prankster.
Maleficent is a live-action adaptation of the Disney animated movie Sleeping Beauty. The screenwriter of the movie Linda Woolverton put a twist in the story of the Sleeping Beauty antagonist. The story is about a young innocent fairy that turned to the dark side after her wings was stolen by King Stefan. Woolverton is the writer of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
According to Jolie, Maleficent is still the villain of the story, but what’s more important is how she became the villain and that there is more to a person than her villainous attributes.
