Maleficent
Maleficent is a live-action adaptation of the Disney animated movie Sleeping Beauty. The screenwriter of the movie Linda Woolverton put a twist in the story of the Sleeping Beauty antagonist. The story is about a young innocent fairy that turned to the dark side after her wings was stolen by King Stefan. Woolverton is the writer of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
According to Jolie, Maleficent is still the villain of the story, but what’s more important is how she became the villain and that there is more to a person than her villainous attributes.
