Nina Dobrev: Will Be No More Seen In The Cw Drama

Nina Dobrev announced Monday that she was exiting at The CW drama. The star spent the weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with her own TVD Family, the crew and cast of The Vampire Diaries. She said this was not just a holiday celebration but a goodbye party.

Nina’s Roles In The CW Drama

Nina wrote on Instagram that she always knew she wanted Elena’s story to be a six-season adventure, and within those six seasons she got a journey of her lifetime. Describing her role, she says she was a human, a doppelganger, a vampire, a human pretending to be a doppelganger, a doppelganger pretending to be a human, and a crazy immortal.

She got kidnaped, cursed, tortured, body-snatched, killed and resurrected. Nina fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soul mates, and she made some of the best friends she says she’ll ever know and built an extended family she’ll love forever. Her exit is not good news to the cast and crew of this series since they have lost quite a number of key players including Michael Trevino, Marguerite MacIntyre and Nina’s on-screen brother, Steven R. McQueen.

The Greatest Loss To The Crew

But the exit of Nina is particularly grave. She has been the lead female artist, having taken up the roles of doppelgangers Amara, Tata, and Katherine, in addition to serving as the central love interest for stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.

The rumors of Nina’s departure first circulated over the holiday weekend when crew members shared photos on social media from a group trip featuring the cast and executive producer Julie Plec with the hashtag #ninawewillmissyou.

Meanwhile, Nina has become a fan favorite for her work on The Vampire Diaries which helped make her a star. Currently, she has about 5.5 million followers on Twitter and has launched into a film career with feature roles including The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let’s Be Cops and The Roommate. Nina is also working on her next horror comedy called The Final Girls which may debut at SXSW in May this year. Dobrev has earned numerous People’s Choice Awards as well as Teen Choice Awards for favorite actress and chemistry with Somerhalder.

Personal Life

Dobrev and Somerhalder dated from 2010 to 2013 after which they split. Since 2014, Somerhalder has been engaged to actress Nikki Reed.
