Rampage Movie 2018 Release Date | New Badass Trailer | Star Cast

From the Director of San Andreas, Brad Peyton, comes another disaster with catastrophic proportions. This time, the anomaly is not caused by natural forces of nature alone but, by humans causing a destructive genetic alteration that can change animals, even humans, as well as the surface of the earth— forever.

From Warner Bros. Co. and New Line Cinema comes Rampage movie 2018, top billed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Prior to shooting this film, Johnson and Peyton have teamed up on two other blockbusters in the past: Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) and San Andreas (2015). The chemistry that the actor and the director have built over the years cannot be denied. The two co-produce the film with three other producers.

Rampage Trailer

Watching the Rampage 2018 Trailer will definitely remind you of the 1980s big screen hit, the King Kong Series, and its more recent adaptation, Kong: Skull Island which was released only in 2017. The quest to beat the giant ape will also make you recall the intense suspense-action treatment of the Jurassic World which is also set to release a sequel some time this 2018.

The trailer indicates strong ethical questions that will be raised throughout the film and is bound to make the audience question how far they are willing to go to satisfy their curiosity and “advance” science. Genetic engineering has been debated for years and this movie will make you fear the possible consequences.

Based on the contents of the official trailers released earlier, this Dwayne Johnson new movie begins when Okoye (Johnson) rescues George, a silverback gorilla, from the wild. The animal was taken into captivity to help increase his chances for survival but, surprisingly, grew too large to be tamed and it takes Okoye to an action adventure quest that necessitates going against authorities to help rescue George yet again.

Other than the giant ape, the Rampage trailer also gives spectators a sneak peak at two other monsters in the film guaranteed to bring nightmares. One is a 30-foot fox, and another a giant crocodile.

The Rampage movie trailer guarantees that the audience can expect to see Dwayne Johnson flex his muscles and throw his comic lines in between, a character the actor has become famous for in his films. There will, likewise, be no shortage of firepower in this film.

Rampage Release Date

Rampage opens in cinemas worldwide on April 13. The Rampage movie release date is a week earlier than the original release schedule announced by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. Dwayne Johnson’s latest movie will be released in the following formats for big screen viewing: Standard, Real D 3D, and IMAX 3D.

Rampage Story

Davis Okoye (Johnson), a primatologist, does not easily get along with other people. Yet, he shares a bond with George, an albino gorilla that Okoye has taken cared of for most of his life. The two share a bond based on trust.

When George grows into a giant monster, Okoye discovers that the gorilla is the product of a Genetic Editing experiment that turns him into a gigantic size, makes him incredibly intelligent but also, alters his behavior. The gorilla destroys everything in its path, along with two other animals that exhibit the same developments as George does — one is a wolf, Ralph, and the other, a crocodile, Lizzie.

Okoye soon finds himself collaborating with the military and solicits the help of a genetic engineer (Naomie Harris) to obtain and deliver an antidote to stop the destruction but also to save George.

The Rampage (2018 film) is inspired by the Rampage video game. The game was popular arcade game originally released by Bally Midway in 1986 to complement several consoles, including Atari. The company later became Midway Games which Warner Bros. currently owns. George, Ralph and Lizzie are the lead characters in this game. Each round advances as soon as everything — buildings and people alike — are reduced to rubble. The Rampage trailer reveals, however, that the movie version departs significantly from
the movie game’s story line.
