Bright and luminous skin-the promise of Shiseido White Lucent Total Brightening Serum. The first formulation for this product was launched in 2004. Early in 2014, Shiseido launched the fifth generation White Lucent Total Brightening Serum. So what’s new?
The product has been reformulated with the special complex, Multi-Action Brightening System. Combined with essential skin vitamins, including Vitamin C, and natural plant extracts, including resveratrol and white lilac, this new formulation promises to target problematic dark spots and give the skin an instantly brilliant, superbly luminous complexion.
Shiseido also infuses this reformulated product with new complex formulations, ProBright MR and MSK. The resulting serum is lightweight, and easily and deeply penetrates skin, allowing skin healing and repair to happen deep down. This new complex is a product of an intensive R&D that reportedly involved some 4,000 ingredients.
Expect moisture-rich skin and spotless beauty with regular use. Each 30 ml bottle costs approximately US$125.
Shiseido is one of the oldest and very first skincare brands, and perhaps the largest skincare company in Japan.
Shiseido was founded in 1872. Since then, the house experienced rapid, steady growth. It has been marketing products in the US for over 40 years.
The first whitening lotion product Shiseido launched in 1917 was made with hydrogen peroxide and cucumber as active ingredients. Today, Shiseido also includes a robust cosmetics line.
Shiseido White Lucent Total Brightening Serum is made from a combination of the following: Water, Sd Alcohol 40-B, Dimethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Glycerin, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Potassium Methoxysalicylate, Xanthan Gum, Peg/Ppg-14/7 Dimethyl Ether, Peg/Ppg-17/4 Dimethyl Ether, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, 2-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Glycyl Glycine, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Rehmannia Chinensis Root Extract, Glucosyl Hesperidin, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Ppg-17, Peg-240/Hdi Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Triethanolamine, Silica, Isostearic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Alcohol, Sodium Metaphosphate, Disodium Edta, Zinc Oxide, Bht, Sodium Metabisulfite, Alumina, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, Mica.
Shiseido also infused this product with the specially formulated complex, ProBright 4MR and 4 MSK, clinically tested and proven by Shiseido to brighten skin and inhibit melanin production. Plant extracts, resveratrol and white lilac act as powerful antioxidants that also help lighten up skin.
The Shiseido White Lucent Total Brightening Serum does contain ingredients that make the skin feel ultrahydrated and look healthy and supple.
As for lightening dark spots, there may be minimal positive results from plant extracts and Vitamin C found in this product’s formulation. However, visibly spotless skin may not be a realistic goal to achieve with product use because of the low concentration of these ingredients.
Skin brilliance resulting from this product may be expected because mica is one of the ingredients albeit, the luminous effect is only temporary.
The product receives mostly praises from customers. Many Asian clients claim that Shiseido seems to understand Asian skin needs best. Some expert reviews, however, stress the lack of any real advance technology behind this product, and most claims are nothing more than part of a sophisticated marketing strategy.
