After Germany crushed Brazil 7-1, it would be great to come up with a list of the other worst and most embarrassing defeats in sports history.

Brazil vs. Germany – 2014 World Cup semi-finals

Just kidding. We can’t take this defeat off the list. One can come up with a top 10 list reasoning why Brazil’s defeat against Germany was painful. It was in their home land. They said it was their birth rite. It was the first time 7 points was scored in World Cup semi-finals. It was the first time in football history that there was a 5-0 score standing in the first 30 minutes of the match. And there are many more reasons why it was embarrassing.


Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 2008 NBA Finals Game 6

Back then, LA Lakers was considered the best basketball team in the NBA. But Boston Celtics turned that around in 2008 as they broke the record for having the biggest margin in the scoreboard during a championship win with 131-92.


Kansas City Royals vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 1985 World Series, Game

Kansas City won 11-0 against St. Louis in the 1985 World Series Game 7.


Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks – Heavyweight Championship

Both of these players are undefeated. This match was dubbed as the “Once and for all” championship of the heavyweight division. After the first round’s 91 seconds, Tyson knocked Spinks out “once and for all.”

This game is considered as the most lopsided final in the history of NCAA as UNLV defeated the Dukes 103-73.


Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis – UFC women’s bantamweight championship

Just this July 5, Rousey defeated Davis in just a matter of 16 seconds. In just a short period of time Rousey managed to hit Davis with a right hand punch, then with a knee to the midsection, followed by a judo throw and a battering to the head, which ultimately led the referee to stop the fight.


Netherlands vs. Spain – 2014 World Cup group stage

Spain is defending champion, but Netherlands seem to not care as they defeated the Spaniards 5-1 early in the tournament.


Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos – Super Bowl XLVIII

Defense really is the best offense as the Seahawks dominated the Broncos 43-8.
