During the race, Bianchi suffered a serious head injury in a crash that caused the race to be stopped early. He is due to be put into intensive care after surgery.

The result of the race became insignificant after this unfortunate event, but Hamilton’s eight win this season is commendable as it extends his champion lead to 10 points with only four races to go and 125 available.

After a successful start of the race and eight laps done, the competition evolved into a duel between Hamilton and Rosberg, both of them were driving Mercedes.

Hamilton started the race in second, with Rosberg on pole, and once the race finally got under way, the drivers were soon into the pits for intermediate tires.

It was a tough race and when Hamilton was 16 seconds ahead of the pack, the race was red flagged and then declared over after 44 laps.

Biachi’s crash

This stoppage was because of Biachi’s crash that happened as conditioned worsened with rain intensifying and light fading.

Bianchi’s car had hit water on the track at the fast uphill Dunlop corner and veered off at the same spot where recovery vehicles were attending the Adrian Sutil’s Sauber who crashed at the same spot the lap before. FIA said Bianchi was unconscious while he was being taken to the hospital.
