There were rumors that Apple was set to begin the production of its largest iPad ever. The company was expected to start the production of this new iPad early next year.
But it appears that the production of the 12.9-inch iPad is still put on hold as the company concentrates on the production of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The demand for the smartphones is so high that the company is finding it hard to cope. The Chinese factory responsible for assembling them is finding it difficult to hire enough workers to keep up with the demand.
The delay is therefore quite understandable. Apple has also been quiet about a 12.9-inch iPad too. It is just hopped that the October 16 Apple event may be used to shed some light on the plans to unveil the iPad.
There are some scanty details about the new iPad. It is expected to be larger than the new 9.7-inch iPad which is expected to be available before the end of this year.
A new version of the iPad mini is also expected before the end of the year just around the same time as the 9.7-inch iPad.
Apple may be using the new giant iPad to recapture some of its lost share in the mobile market. Apple enjoyed only 36 percent of the mobile market last year compared to 53 percent that it enjoyed in the previous year.
Apple may also unveil a laptop/tablet hybrid to address the growing popularity of these convertible devices.
