Finally the Launching of Sony Xperia Z4 has been Announced

Sony has officially announced the release date for Xperia Z4. But it will only be released in Japan. As at now, there’s still no word concerning the release date for the international version.

Sony Xperia

It is not long since the release of Xperia Z3, and it seems Sony is releasing its new smartphones quite rapidly. There have been a lot of rumors about Sony’s next flagship. One report indicated that Sony would return to an annual launch of its top devices as it used to do before, ditching its recent trend of launching after every six months.

The release date for Sony Xperia Z4

The Xperia Z4 will be launching in Japan later in the summer, but we’re not sure whether international availability will be before or after that or whether it will be there at all. Sources privy to Sony’s operations indicates that Sony will move from two flagships a year to just one and will push the Sony Xperia Z4 back to summer.

The Xperia Z4 isn’t very much different from the previous iterations of the Xperia Z lineup. It weighs 144 grams and measures 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm. The Xperia Z4 is therefore 9 grams lighter and 4 mm thinner compared to Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z4 will have thinner top and bottom bezels as well as more rounded corners. Leaked images of Xperia Z4 show that it could come with a 1.2 mm glass panel and a resin bezel.

The Xperia Z4 is IPX6 certified for dust resistance and IPX5/IPX8 certified for water resistance. The device can, therefore, withstand 12.5 l/m of water projected through a nozzle of 6.3 mm diameter from 3 m distance for a minimum of 3 minutes, and from any direction.

Other specs

The Sony Xperia Z4 sports a 5.2-inch triluminos display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 424 ppi. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable to 128 GB via a microSD slot. The Xperia Z4 uses an octa-core 2.0GHz/1.5GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

The device has a 20.7MP Exmor RS primary camera with LED flash but lacking in Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It has a 5.1MP secondary camera that is great for video chats and selfies. The smartphone will come with Android 5.0 and will derive its power from a 2930 mAh battery.
