Motorola’s second gen Moto X is now shipping and some leaks suggest that the next smartphone in Verizon’s Droid line might be on the way.
That’s not all, there’s something that’s cooking. Motorola is said to be working on a device codenamed “Shamu” that is going to serve as Google’s next Nexus phone.
And it is going to be a super-sized, more powerful version of the Moto X.
Some claim the new Google’s next Android will be known as the Nexus X, while others expect it to be called the Nexus 6 in reference to its expected 5.92” screen.
No photos of the upcoming Nexus have been leaked yet, but 9to5Google seems to have a good idea of what it will look like.
“As for the overall appearance of the device, it’s basically going to be a scaled up 2nd generation Moto X with some minor tweaks to make the larger size easier to use,” their report says.
It will have an aluminum frame and will have a QHD display. The Nexus will pack a Snapdragon 805 processor and a 3GB RAM.
The camera will be 12mp and will look nearly identical to what is now on the Motor X.
The new Nexus will run on Android L, the next major version of Google’s mobile OS. According to 9to5Google, the device may launch in November with an unveiling coming in October.
