LinkedIn has improved its mobile app to make it easier for user to connect. LinkedIn will now highlight interests and connections you share with someone if you view their profile on Android iOS or the mobile website. It will also highlight the groups you have both joined.
This is aimed at facilitating conversation between those whoa are not yet connected by suggesting the likely topic for discussion for them depending on their interests and connections.
For example, this app will help you know where someone works, what they do, what you know in common, whether your school years overlapped or if you have worked for the same company. The information will help make your communication easier since you shall have known one another’s background.
You can easily pick a topic of discussion if may be you have realized that both of you are interested in poetry, biking or psychology.
“If you knew what we had in common or any of my interests, chances are that we’ll probably have a pretty great first conversation,” said Charlton Soesanto, a mobile product manager at LinkedIn.
The app also adds more contextual information to one of LinkedIn’s most popular features that is the “Who’s viewed your profile” page.
The app will let you know how some one found you if they look at your profile. People may find you through mutual connection, if you show up in a search or if they check you out because you checked them out first.
LinkedIn has been working on its apps. It can be remembered that in June it launched a discreet, standalone job search app.
LinkedIn launched this standalone app called Job Search to streamline the job searching process.
40 percent of LinkedIn users already use mobile to look up jobs and LinkedIn is hoping this app will help them get their best fit faster.
The app features job search filters, notifications and recommendations based on your previously viewed positions.
