
The board of directors from South Korea mega electronic company hinted that ‘their yet to be released smartphones will have new big-screen device and will have a variety of materials as well as displays’.
The company will probably introduce the follow up to Galaxy Note 3, which is much anticipated. Galaxy S5 will hit the market pretty soon, and the smartphone giant is counting on it to attract a lot more buyers compared to its predecessor.
Due to the poor performance in the in the second quarter earnings, the South Korean electronics giant said it it’s changing its strategy in smartphone production. They are set to release new high-end smartphones in the second half of the year. They hope this strategy may help boost their performance.
Samsung is really counting on these very innovative new products with large-screen space to increase the second half earnings. Mr. Hyun-Joon Kim, who is the senior vice president of Samsung mobile, in a press conference said, “One will be very innovative new product in the large-screen space and the other will be a very attractive new model that uses new materials and new displays”.
Samsung also announced to its consumers during its earnings that they are to improve the wearable’s category by introduction of a more assorted product portfolio.
Speculations are rife that the bigger smartphone could be the Galaxy Note 4 even though the company vice president did not clarify the details. Come this fall, Samsung will launch its latest phone-tablets hybrids which are better known as phablets.
The other grand device could be much-awaited metal smartphone. This smartphone has been given numerous names from Galaxy Alpha to the prime Galaxy S5.
As Samsung releases the news about its latest devices, the stiff competition in the smartphone industry has made its profits drop down to 25% margin in their second quarter. This marks the third time in a row of profit declines as competition in smartphones marketing increases.
The company also acknowledged that great challenges that will face them in 2014 due to low device prices as a result of high competition in the market.
“Chances of growth remain hazy as competition for the international market tightens,” said the company in press conference. Samsung Company anticipates the turnover of its mobile devices to increase with the release of new products and models, but the profit may not increase due to high competition over price and product limitations.
The event marked the first phase of sales for Samsung’s newest flagship products and new models. Samsung swore the device, which it will disclose towards the end of February and begin its sale in April, would retail better than its predecessor Galaxy S4.
The company in May said that it sold about 11 million Galaxy S5s in the initial month of sales, outdoing the galaxy S4 by 1 million units.
Fears has been developed lately that Galaxy S5 turnover is weaker than projected, and the company hasn’t let out any resent shipment statistics. Samsung Company has also been urged to use more quality substances in its devices for example metal.
