Apple has finally delivered on the three of its most anticipated products; the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus and the Apple Watch.
The two phones come with NFC and the “Apple Pay” tap-to-pay system. The Apple Watch comes with a range of customizable designs and a completely new interface making it ready to face off with Google’s Android Wear.
The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are thinner than the previous iterations with significant size bump for even the small model. The battery life of the phones have greatly improved with the smaller iPhone 6 getting 10 hours more talk time while the 6 Plus getting twice as much as the iPhone 5S’ 40 hours.
The 6 Plus boasts a Retina HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a 64-bit A8 chip which significantly improves its performance over its predecessor.
The iPhone 6 also offers a Retina HD screen but with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. It is an extra-hard “in-strengthened” screen. The body is 6.9 mm which is 0.7 mm thinner than its predecessor.
The A8 chip is 50 percent more efficient than the A7 chip found in the current-generation iPads and iPhones. It is also 13 percent smaller.
The new iPhones have improved cameras. They both have 8MP rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture. The sensor has been upgraded and the “next generation iSight sensor has focus pixels which offer phase detection autofocus just like DSLRs. With these iPhones you will be able to take HDR shots with just a single click of the shutter.
You will get the 16GB iPhone 6 for $199 while the 32GB will be at $399. For the 6 Plus you will have to part with $299 for the 16GB version and $499 for the 128GB version. Both will come in white, space gray or gold models.
The Apple Watch is a very powerful machine working as a watch, a fitness tracker, a communication tool and a method of payment. It will come in two sizes and six different straps created by Apple itself. According to Tim Cook of Apple, the Apple Watch is the most personal device they have ever created.
It will go on sale early next year for $349 at the low end. Much information is still being awaited including potential wireless connectivity, details of battery life and full list of prices.
