
Europe is filled with historical churches with incredible architectural designs. This only proves how religion could transcend its Divine inspiration to its structures.
But, you don’t have to go to Europe just to see wonderful churches. There are churches in America with interior designs that would definitely elate your soul to a higher level.
- The First Presbyterian Church. Wallace K. Harrison is the architect of this church in Stamford, Connecticut.
- United States Air Fore Academy Cadet Chapel. This chapel in Colorado Springs is designed by Walter Netsch/Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. Its organ and roof are some of the most notable parts of its design.
- Crystal Cathedral. Philip Johnson and John Burgee are the architects of this church located at Garden Grove, Orange County.
- Portsmouth Abbey. Pietro Belluschi is the architect of this church in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
- MIT Chapel. Eero Saarinen is the architect of this chapel. It has a wonderful Harry Bertoia sculpture in the center.
- Kramer Chapel. Eero Saarinen is the architect f this chapel in the Concordia Theological Seminary located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- Beth El Synagogue. Minoru Yamasaki is the architect of this synagogue located in Detroit, Michigan. Yamasaki is also the architect of New York City’s Twin Towers.
