The website claims that the survey is based on the millions of reviews made by its users. These reviews were collated in a span of 12 months.
Leading travel website TripAdvisor issued a new survey called Travelers’ Choice awards for Zoos and Aquariums.
Out of the 275 zoos and aquariums that were named, Henry Doorly Zoo of Omaha, Nebraska topped the list, while San Diego Zoo in California lands on the second spot. The Henry Doorly Zoo was originally created way back 1880 as the Riverview Park, it was reorganized and renamed in the 1960s.
For the world’s best aquarium, California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium leads the list.
The US has nine zoos included in the top 25 zoos in the world, while 10 of the countries top aquariums made it to the top 25 list of world aquariums.
