Tips on Travelling by Car

If you love travelling by your car then there’s nothing better than it! A car trip is all about you and only you! You have the power to decide when to stop, start, eat, sleep and again start. If your sick of package tours you can go on alone and see where the less travelled road can take you. Whichever way you choose your in for a sure adventure.

Being a road tripper you can choose as many routes or let the roads take you wherever it takes. You need to have an accurate map guiding you places and a starting point. Many beginners in road trips make the mistake of driving miles at a stretch in one single day. They must instead drive a few miles, stop and enjoy the place before they head on. There are a few stretches like. Highway 1 in California and Route 66 which are very famous and are taken by first-timers also by the experienced rodies alike. Here are some of my tips on car travels that I find very useful to share.

1. First thing you need for a road trip is to have a good road map and a guidebook which is specially written keeping the road trippers in mind. Carrying a first-aid kit and a GPS is again recommended. Other things you may want to carry depends on the destination .If going somewhere where it is very cold and in between if your car breaks down you will thank yourself for carrying a pair of gloves. In the same way if your going to a warmer destination than carry plenty of water and carry it throughout the trip.

2. Get the oil changed and the wiper fluid of your car checked. If you know your trip is taking you to the mountains than plan to take an SUV. Consider the number of people in the car and the number of luggage each of them will get along.

3. Choose your companions wisely as they will affect your road trip more than any other aspect of your trip would. Get to know their comfort levels, even if you don’t completely agree, you can still strike a balance between planning and adventure.

4. Always form a kitty before hitting the road. Let each member contribute the same amount of money and use that fund in paying for rooms, meals, petrol, oil and any other expense you incur while travelling. This way everybody bears an equal cost of the journey.

Since I take my car to most of the destinations I have come to believe that without the above mentioned tips my journey could end up being a nightmare. With the above in mind I have always had a successful travel. Hope it is helpful for you too!
