Picture this- You walk into a zoo and instead of having the animals in the cages, you find humans (who have paid to be there by the way) caged and the animals roaming free. Absurd, right? Well, that is the normal scenario in Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo in Chongqing City, China. The predators roam freely in the park while the tourists are kept in the cages. From there, they get to feed these animals live chicken and other delicacies in the animal kingdom.
Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo
Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo is the place to be for people who love animals such as tigers bears, lions etc. People who want to get up close and personal with these animals. This is be done with much ease while at the same time ensuring you don’t end up as their next meal. You get to feed them through a small opening at the top of the vehicle. A guard is provided to ensure this exercise is safe and you don’t lose a limb in the process. A thrilling experience by all means. The visitors get to tour the zoo in this wire-mesh cage and interact with wild cats among other animals. The only caution you need to take is to ensure your hands and all other things you may be carrying are inside the cage at all time. After all, none of the animals know the difference between you and their next meal. You don’t want to end up in their plate now, do you? But you have the option of being taken back once you are satisfied with the view.
The question then lingers- What inspired the development of such a park? Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo was started in the year 2015. It is one of the few zoos in the world that offer such an experience. The zoo spokeswoman Chang Liang said the initial aim was to give the visitors the thrill of being attacked and stalked by wild animals while at the same time ensuring none of this happens in the real sense. She said this while speaking to the Oddity Central. To ensure that the experience is fun and safe, a comprehensive orientation is made on the guest. This experience has been received well not only by the locals but also tourists. In not more than 20 months since its inception, the zoo has attracted so many people and a lot more can be expected in the near future. You will be surprised to know that after its launch, tickets to visit the place were sold out for the preceding three months, in a matter of days. It thus means that if you are planning to visit, you need to make your reservations in advance.
If you are looking to have an exciting experience next time you are on holiday, then this is the place to be. But it is not the only zoo. Below, we look at other zoos that offer a similar experience:
1. Orana Wildlife Park
The zoo is located in Christchurch, New Zealand. The cage can take up to 20 visitors at a time and the truck departs every day at 2.30 pm. The main program here is the “Lion Encounter”, where you feed the lions while in the cage as you tour the park. However, you need to purchase a ticket, which goes for about $45, in advance as only 20 tickets are available in a day. The good news is, that is not the only thing happening there; a number of other exciting activities also happen throughout the day.
2. Parque Safari Zoo
This zoo is located in Rancagua, central of Chile. It is the home for six lions, where tourists get to interact with these lions. On the top of the cage, chunks of meat are placed andthe animals are free to climb up there and eat them. they may decide to lie up there or stare at the people in the cage. This is the time the tourists take to even touch the animal and get to see it for a closer view. The five- acre drive will leave you with memories to treasure for a lifetime.
If there is anything constant in life, that is change. The world is changing at an alarming rate and the way we used to do something a few years back has completely changed today.
