PS4 outperforms Xbox One once again in April

The PS4 has outperformed the Xbox One in sales once again in April, following three straight months of beating the Xbox One in sales. Sony has announced seven million PS4 sales since the launch on November 2013.

Even in the United States where Microsoft should have had the advantage, Sony’s PS4 is still running the show. The launch of Titanfall may have won Electronic Arts some awards, but it hasn’t sold a ton of consoles for Microsoft.

Microsoft revealed 115,000 Xbox One units had been shipped in the United States during April and the Xbox 360 managed to hit 71,000 sales in April too, showing the ninth-generation console is still alive and kicking.

When the Xbox One was revealed, Microsoft said they were not going to give up on the Xbox 360 and believed it could still go strong for three years, while they get the Xbox One ecosystem to a good point where all users can switch.

Games have been pretty slow on both the Xbox One and PS4, which could be a reason for the ninth-generation consoles still maintaining good sales worldwide, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are currently experiencing a lot of sales too, adding to the potential buyers.

Destiny is the next big title we should see coming to next-gen consoles and this will not be a PC launch title, meaning this could boost next-gen sales. We noticed with Grand Theft Auto V sales of Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles shot up, as people wanted to experience Rockstar’s next title.

Watch_Dogs could be a next-gen seller, but the fact it is coming on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC nullifies any exclusivity the title might have had, The Division has just been announced as delayed until 2015 and Halo 5: Guardians will also be coming in 2015, meaning there is a low amount of games on offer right now for PS4 and Xbox One only.
