Samsung, the Korea-based company is all set to launch its new Galaxy Note 5 this year in September. The launch will take place at the Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin during the IFA Expo. The expectations are very high and it is expected that the Phablet will receive higher demand in the market just like Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It is expected that the company will sell about 45 million units by the end of this year.
Samsung always had a secret weapon in a form of Galaxy Note. The device remains as the original phablet while at the same time many intelligent phone producers are competing to produce much larger size smartphones. According to I Digital Times, it is rumored that Galaxy Note 5 will feature a foldable display which has many similarities to a video game console. The new device will be larger that Galaxy Note 4, and it will have a 5.9-inch Quad HD display. The display is larger than the screen of Note 4 by 0.2 inches. Note 5 will feature 7.9 mm.
The design of Note 5 has leaked and it seems to have a large and boxy new look. It also features a metal and glass design with a reflective gold color option just like Galaxy S6. It is believed that the Note 5 will adopt the bottom speakers of Samsung Galaxy S6 and the LED flash which is located on the main sensor of the camera.
The new device features many new and cool things, such as an auto-eject S-Pen which works with a voice command. There are a few more features such as a 21 MP camera, 4 GB RAM, USB type-C port and more. The release date for the new device is set for September, and will surely bring some new hot features to loyal Samsung users.
Specifications and Features
Rumors suggest that the new device will feature either a Samsung’s Exynos 7422 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. The camera could very well be as powerful as the21 MP in resolution. However, it is also possible that Samsung will stick to 16 MP as they did with Samsung Galaxy S6. Regardless what the rumors speculate, it is expected that the camera will feature a large sensor, and a very powerful front camera. User can expect to capture full HD videos.
There are many rumors about the storage, which all suggest a range of SKU from 16 gigabytes up to 128 gigabytes. It is recommend to take that info with a pinch of salt, and probably expect something like 32 gigabytes, and potentially with a SD card slot. Samsung did not feature a SD card support in its S6 model, which did not go unnoticed by the loyal fans. We would definitely love to see a micro SD card support within the new Note 5. However, all the rumors so far showcase of that not happening. Although, it is not impossible.
Rumors also suggest a 4,100mAh or 4000mAh battery, plus an ultra-battery saver mode. Will the battery be removable or not depends on the fact will Samsung stick with the metal chassis or not. However, rumors suggest that it will.
The software related with Note 5 is Android Lollipop, but it will be upgraded to Android M. Users can expect the same features that Samsung Galaxy S6 has, but with one addition, and that’s Samsung Pay feature.
According to the word on the street, so to speak, the device will include an Ultra-HD 4K AMOLED display.
Even though Samsung will continue to develop premium look, those who are hoping for a more metal look hand unit will miss out this particular time. According to designers at Samsung they will not focus on fully metal design. One more thing designers did not want is to make the phone with a metal frame because it gives a cold and hard look.
The time for its launch is near and all of the Samsung fans will soon get their hands on a brand new device with some spectacular features and a cool design. So stay tuned!
