Here are the best random actor big breaks in the entertainment industry:
Charlize Theron. Theron’s acting debut was in the movie Children of the Corn III. But this was not her career-defining moment. The 18-year-old South African went to America and lived pay check to pay check with her modelling gigs. When she had one pay check left and the bank refused to cash it, she used all her acting skills to beg the bank teller to cash the check. A man helped her fill up forms and undergo a process to have the check cashed. That man was John Crosby, a talent agent, who ultimately took young Theron in and ultimately led her to her success.
Pamela Anderson. Canadian Anderson went to Vancouver to pursue a career as a fitness instructor. She wore Labatt’s shirt in a Canadian Football League game. She looked sensational and Labatt signed her up for a modelling contract. After that it was all uphill for the young voluptuous star as Hugh Hefner gave her a shot at Playboy. Later on, she appeared in countless TV Shows and even movies.
Bill Cosby. Cosby took the place of a comedian who didn’t show up for a certain stand up show. He made the crowd laugh and they loved him. Later on, he got a deal that made him appear in certain TV shows. When TV Producer Sheldon Leonard saw Cosby appear in The Tonight Show way back 1963, he was given a chance to star in shows that made him win awards.
Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher worked off jobs before he was discovered by a talent scout who encouraged him to join a modelling competition. Kutcher later on became a part of That ‘70s show.
Mel Gibson. Before applying for a role in Mad Max, he got into a fight. He went to the audition with his face bruised. He was asked to come again next time. When he came back, the director saw how good he looked. So, instead of being the antagonist he was cast as the leading actor.
Natalie Portman. She was just 11 when a cosmetic agent discovered her beauty while eating pizza in a restaurant in Long Island. She landed on her career-defining role in The Professional in 1994.
